I partnered with Fairfax County officials to design the brand identity and build a custom digital platform for Northern Virginia’s Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program after winning a competitive RFP.
The goal was to create a clear, trustworthy, and easy-to-use system that connected residents with free tax assistance services across Northern Virginia. The result was a fully custom WordPress platform with dynamic location listings, calendar functionality, and real-time content updates, allowing officials to quickly publish and maintain accurate information about clinic locations, schedules, and eligibility requirements.
The website functioned as both a public-facing service directory and a centralized knowledge base, helping residents navigate a complex process while reducing administrative friction for program coordinators. Built for accessibility and clarity, the platform supported a broad coalition of libraries, faith-based organizations, community groups, public agencies, and businesses working together to serve low-income individuals and families.
This project combined government collaboration, user-centered design, and custom CMS development to deliver a scalable civic technology solution that improved access to essential services and strengthened public trust.
